New revelations about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, have emerged through his former mother-in-law, Priscilla Presley (80), who is also the ex-wife of Elvis Presley. In her soon-to-be-published memoir, Priscilla directly criticizes Jackson’s true character and raises questions about the real reason he married her daughter.

On September 21 (local time), the New York Post reported that in her memoir, "Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis," Priscilla Presley discussed the marriage between Michael Jackson and her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, stating that Jackson "pretended to be innocent on the outside, but was in fact a highly calculating person."

Priscilla recalled the moment she learned that Lisa Marie would marry Michael Jackson in 1994, saying, "I strongly felt that he wasn’t marrying my daughter, but rather attempting to marry into the entire Presley family." She went on to claim, "At that time, Michael was in desperate need of an image rehabilitation, and it seemed he was trying to overcome his crisis by using the Presley name."

Priscilla also revealed that Jackson told her daughter he wanted to have children with her, and that she even asked Lisa Marie directly whether their relationship was genuine. She stated, "Lisa Marie answered, 'Yes.'" She added, "When the two eventually separated, it felt as if Elvis himself was letting out a sigh of relief."

Jackson and Lisa Marie married shortly after Lisa Marie’s divorce from her first husband, Danny Keough, but their marriage ended after about two years. At the time, Jackson was embroiled in allegations of child molestation, and some speculated that his marriage to Lisa Marie was a means to deflect these accusations. However, Lisa Marie refuted this in her own separately published memoir, asserting, "What I had with Michael was true love."

Afterward, Michael Jackson remarried nurse Debbie Rowe and had two children with her, while his youngest child was born via surrogate. He died in 2009 from a propofol overdose. Lisa Marie went on to marry and divorce three more times before passing away from cardiac arrest in 2023.

In her latest memoir, Priscilla Presley shares personal stories focused on her life and family after Elvis Presley’s death, and also sheds light on the complex family dynamics involving Michael Jackson that were previously unknown to the public.
