This exhibition will showcase the diverse world of paintings by Father Kim Injoong, who is known as the "Painter of Light." Approximately 60 works will be presented, including stained glass, paintings, ceramics, and glass art.

Father Kim learned calligraphy as a child and later studied Western art at Seoul National University’s College of Fine Arts. After graduating from graduate school, he worked as a high school teacher before encountering the Catholic faith. In 1969, while studying art history at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, he chose the path of priesthood through Dominican spirituality. He began installing stained glass works at Saint John the Baptist Church in Angoul?me in 1989, followed by installations at Evry Cathedral in 1998 and other locations. Currently, over 100 of his works are installed in France and various countries across Europe.

His works are highly regarded for their restrained forms and the rich layers achieved by utilizing the unique qualities of glass, while technically blending tradition and modernity. Another distinctive feature is the harmony between the Eastern concept of space and Western use of color within his compositions.

This exhibition, supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, and Yakhyeon Catholic Church in Jungnim-dong, will run until December 21.
