Beach Cleanup Activities Launched in 2020
Established as a Leading ESG Initiative
HiteJinro announced on the 22nd that it conducted an environmental cleanup activity at Iho Tewoo Beach in Jeju on the 19th to mark the International Coastal Cleanup Day.
Since 2020, starting with Pyoseon Beach in Jeju, HiteJinro has continued quarterly cleanup activities, adopting Dalgmeoru Coast in 2023 and maintaining these efforts through March this year. In addition, to commemorate its 100th anniversary last September, the company conducted both coastal and underwater cleanup activities, establishing its beach cleanup program as a representative ESG initiative.

With the adoption contract for Dalgmeoru Coast ending in May this year, the third quarter activity was newly held at Iho Tewoo Beach, a popular destination for tourists. This was the first collaboration following a business agreement signed with Korea Electric Power Corporation’s Jeju branch in August, with 25 participants including employees and partner company staff.
HiteJinro plans to continue its marine environment protection efforts by expanding cooperation with local organizations such as Jeju Ara Community Welfare Center, Jeju National University, and Jeju Coast Guard.
Kim Inkyu, CEO of HiteJinro, stated, "Protecting the marine environment is a social responsibility for companies and an essential task for future generations," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in ESG management by carrying out regular cleanup activities at new beaches in collaboration with various partner organizations."
