2025 Gender Equality Commemoration Event Held

Chilgok County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Kim Jaewook) held the "2025 Gender Equality Commemoration Event" on September 17 at the Hyangsa Art Center, under the theme "A Gender-Equal Society Where Everyone Is Respected, A Happy Lucky Chilgok for Everyone."

The gender equality commemoration event was organized to guarantee equal human rights for both men and women and to realize substantive gender equality through the practice of work-life balance.

Approximately 250 people attended the event, including Chilgok County Governor Kim Jaewook and his spouse, Provincial Assembly members Park Soonbeom and Jeong Hanseok, heads of local organizations and social groups, and members of the Women's Association Council.

The event began with performances by local singer Park Kyunghee and fusion flutist Seo Gabi, followed by awards for individuals who contributed to the practice of gender equality and for supportive spouses, an opening address, commemorative speech, congratulatory remarks, a gender equality performance, and a special performance.

In addition, various side events were held, including a lucky bamboo vase-making activity by the Chilgok Family Center, K-food Ssamjang making by the Chilgok Women's Resources Development Center, and promotional activities by the Chilgok Integrated Counseling Center to prevent violence and foster a culture of gender equality, offering a wide range of attractions for attendees.

Kim Jaewook, Governor of Chilgok County, stated, "I ask for your continued interest and participation so that Chilgok County can take another step toward realizing gender equality through this commemoration event. We will continue to strive to make Chilgok a gender-equal city where everyone is happy, both at home and in the workplace."
