Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam Province, together with BNK Gyeongnam Bank, carried out the "Traditional Market Shopping and Delivery Volunteer Service for the Wishes of Elderly Living Alone" at the Changwon Myeongseo Market.

The event, held on September 20, was part of BNK Gyeongnam Bank's Social Contribution Day for Chuseok. It was a social contribution activity aimed at supporting elderly residents living alone in the region and revitalizing traditional markets in Changwon. Volunteers purchased items requested in advance by the elderly directly from the traditional market and delivered them to their homes, checking in on the well-being of the recipients in the process.


Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, Kim Taehan, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, and 250 employees of BNK Gyeongnam Bank participated in the volunteer activity. Through this social contribution initiative, 500 households of elderly living alone in Changwon received wish-list items worth 50,000 won and traditional market gift certificates worth 50,000 won each.


Kim Taehan, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, said, "I am grateful that our employees have joined in this social contribution activity, which brings warmth to the community and new vitality to the local economy. Going forward, BNK Gyeongnam Bank will continue to take the lead in spreading the culture of sharing to marginalized areas in the region."


Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "I deeply appreciate BNK Gyeongnam Bank and its employees for stepping up for the local community. I hope today's shopping and delivery volunteer service will bring comfort to the elderly and help invigorate Myeongseo Traditional Market."


Meanwhile, BNK Gyeongnam Bank continues to lead the way in fostering a culture of sharing in the local community by consistently carrying out various social contribution projects each year, such as distributing Changwon Love Gift Certificates during holidays, providing summer goods in the hot season, kimchi for winter, and daily necessities packages.
