Raemian Green Cascade Wins Bronze Award in IDEA Environment Category
Raemian One Bailey Receives a Total of Six Design Awards Including Red Dot
The construction division of Samsung C&T Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Samsung C&T) has become the first Korean construction company to sweep all three of the world's major design awards in the landscaping category.
On September 21, Samsung C&T announced that its "Raemian Green Cascade" won the Bronze Award in the Environment category at the 2025 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA), one of the most prestigious design awards.
The IDEA Design Award is North America's top design competition, jointly organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), founded in 1980, and the American business weekly BusinessWeek. Each year, the competition selects the best designs in each category based on comprehensive criteria such as design innovation, user benefit, and social responsibility. It is recognized as one of the world's top three design awards, alongside the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
The "Raemian Green Cascade" is a space within the Raemian One Bailey complex where a concrete retaining wall was transformed through landscaping solutions. The 2.5-meter-high structure was reimagined as a series of five cascading landscape terraces. Comprising green spaces, water features, and rest areas, this space was reborn as a resident lounge where people can relax in an environment reminiscent of a misty forest, thanks to the use of moss that absorbs harmful substances.
With this IDEA award, Samsung C&T has become the first Korean construction company to win all three of the world's major design awards in the landscaping category. In 2024, the "Anytime Playground" at the One Bailey complex received the main award at the Red Dot Design Award, and in 2022, the "Four Seasons Green Wall Pergola" at the La Classy complex won the main award at the iF Design Award.
Including this IDEA award, Raemian One Bailey has received a total of six accolades: four from global design awards such as the Asia Design Prize and the Red Dot Design Award, and two from landscaping awards such as the International Federation of Landscape Architects Award and the Nature Environment Award.
