Across the Pyeongchang-eup Area

Pyeongchang County in Gangwon Province announced on September 21 that the 2025 Pyeongchang Baekilhong Festival will be held under the theme "Scent of Autumn, Colored by Baekilhong" for ten days from October 3 to October 12 in the Pyeongchang-eup area.

This year's festival will be organized into seven sections, each featuring independent themes, a variety of hands-on experiences, photo zones, and cultural performances, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the unique autumn atmosphere amidst ten million Baekilhong flowers.

Main sections will include: a photo zone blending mixed Baekilhong flower fields, panda sculptures, and flower towers, as well as a gourd tunnel; a themed experience area with busking performances and food trucks; a large flower garden decorated with cosmos and Baekilhong; and a cultural rest area where visitors can enjoy a DJ box and Samulnori (Korean traditional percussion) experiences. These spaces offer a combination of flowers, art, food, and relaxation.

Notably, this year a one-way extension has been added to the can train route for greater visitor convenience, and a stamp tour will be operated, with souvenirs provided to those who complete all sections. At the traditional culture experience booths, visitors can directly participate in Pyeongchang's cultural heritage, such as making buckwheat pancakes, playing folk games, painting pottery, and planting Orostachys. The main stage will feature a variety of performances, including a live radio broadcast by Wonju MBC and a saxophone competition.

Additionally, during the festival, a night market and food zone will be operated with participation from local institutions and residents. Related events include the Dalbit Market at the Pyeongchang-eup traditional market and the Hangawi Pyeongchang Eco Light Show at Noramdeul. Shuttle bus services will connect the festival with local tourist attractions, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

Shim Jaeguk, Mayor of Pyeongchang County, and Kim Hyeongjin, Festival Committee Chairman, stated, "The Pyeongchang Baekilhong Festival is Pyeongchang's representative autumn festival, blending flowers, culture, and experiences. We hope many people will enjoy the beauty and rural charm of Pyeongchang, not only at the Baekilhong flower fields but also at the Dalbit Market in the traditional market and the Eco Light Show at Noramdeul, with a wealth of new content."
