Expected to Become a Central Hub for Family Welfare
Changwon Special City held the opening ceremony for the Changwon Jinhae Family Center in Chungmu-dong, with Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong, National Assemblyman Lee Jonguk, provincial and city council members, heads of local organizations and institutions, and citizens in attendance.
The Changwon Jinhae Family Center, which began as a Jinhae branch of the Changwon Family Center in May 2023 and was promoted to an independent center in January this year with national funding, is now located at the former site of the Jinhae Cultural Center. It is equipped with offices, classrooms, counseling rooms, and a language development classroom, and is ready to welcome citizens.
The center aims to meet the diverse welfare needs of Jinhae-gu residents by providing parental support, family counseling, multicultural family support, Family Love Day, and military family happiness support services. It also plans to offer more specialized family services through networking with related local organizations.
A resident who attended the opening ceremony on the 19th said, "Until now, residents in the western part of Jinhae found it inconvenient to use the Jinhae branch in Yongwon due to the distance. I am delighted that this long-standing wish of Jinhae-gu residents has finally been fulfilled with the opening of the new center."
Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong stated, "With the opening of this center, residents of Jinhae-gu can now enjoy customized family services closer to home. We will continue to communicate with citizens and strive to establish a family culture where everyone can be happy."
