Online and On-site Registration Opens October 1
A Sports Festival for Families to Enjoy Together
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province will host the 19th Yangsan National Half Marathon at the Yangsan Sports Complex on December 6.
This year’s event will feature three categories: half marathon, 10km, and 5km. A total of 8,000 participants from across the country are expected to compete in a spirited race along the scenic Yangsan Stream and Hwangsan Park.
The participant quotas are set at 3,000 for the half marathon, 3,500 for the 10km, and 1,500 for the 5km. The entry fees remain unchanged from last year at 40,000 won for both the half marathon and 10km, and 30,000 won for the 5km.
Online registration will be open from October 1 to November 3, while on-site registration will be available from October 1 to 17. Notably, this year, the Yangsan Sports Council will operate a separate on-site registration for up to 300 seniors aged 65 and over and participants with disabilities, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Yangsan National Half Marathon is a long-standing event that has continued to thrive each year with enthusiastic participation. This year, the number of participants has been increased from 7,000 to 8,000, allowing more citizens and runners to join. To enhance convenience, shuttle buses will run between the Yangsan City Hall parking lot and the event venue to minimize inconvenience for participants.
A variety of side events will also be held, including a children’s cosplay and a kids’ run, offering programs for families to enjoy together and creating special memories for both participants and their families.
Comedian Bae Dongseong, known among runners as the “Yoo Jaeseok of the running community,” will serve as the event host, promising to further energize the atmosphere on site.
Sung Eunyoung, Head of the Sports Support Division, stated, “The Yangsan National Half Marathon continues to grow each year with the love and interest of many people. We will do our utmost to ensure that all participants can run safely and enjoyably.”
