The special prosecutor team led by Cho Eunseok, which is investigating allegations of insurrection and foreign aggression related to the December 3 emergency martial law, has notified former President Yoon Seokyeol to appear for questioning as a suspect in connection with the "Pyongyang drone infiltration operation."
On the 20th, the special prosecutor's office announced, "We have notified former President Yoon to appear as a suspect at 10 a.m. on the 24th."

The special prosecutor's team is expected to question former President Yoon regarding suspicions of deploying drones over Pyongyang, as well as other allegations of foreign aggression. This is the first time the special prosecutor's team will investigate former President Yoon on charges related to foreign aggression.
The special prosecutor's office suspects that former President Yoon ordered the Drone Operations Command to carry out a Pyongyang drone infiltration operation in October last year, with the aim of provoking North Korea to create justification for declaring emergency martial law. It has also been revealed that in June last year, during the planning stage of the operation, then-Presidential Security Service Chief Kim Yonghyun contacted several key military officials using secure phones to inquire about the drone operation.
Former President Yoon has been detained at the Seoul Detention Center since July 10, after an arrest warrant requested by the insurrection special prosecutor's team was issued. At that time, the arrest warrant did not include charges related to foreign aggression.
