In his opening speech, Mayor Shin stated, "Today’s opening of 'GXG 2025' marks a meaningful starting point that signals a new paradigm for the game industry in the era of artificial intelligence." He added, "Now in its third year, this festival will serve as a gateway for game culture, connecting games and art, generations and eras, the present and the future, as well as the world and Seongnam."
He continued, "Seongnam City is working to foster a robust game industry ecosystem centered around Pangyo Techno Valley," and emphasized, "We will continue to do our utmost to promote a healthy game culture that everyone can enjoy together with our citizens."
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Shin, members of the Seongnam City Council, members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, and game industry representatives. The event included a pre-ceremony performance, the official opening declaration, a commemorative photo session, and a congratulatory performance.
