Gurye County Offers Mortgage Interest Subsidies for Newlyweds and Families with Multiple Children

Gurye County in South Jeolla Province announced on September 19 that it is recruiting applicants for its housing support program, which provides mortgage interest subsidies for newlyweds and families with multiple children.

This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of purchasing a home and to encourage settlement in the region. The program offers interest subsidies of up to 250,000 won per month for a maximum of 36 months.

To be eligible, all household members must be registered residents of South Jeolla Province as of the application date. In addition, the applicant must have purchased a home in Gurye County and must be registered as residing at that address.

In 2025, two new households will be selected for the program, bringing the total number of supported households to eight, including six ongoing recipients. Applications will be accepted until October 17, and interested individuals should apply in person at the local town or township office corresponding to their address.

County Governor Kim Soonho stated, "I hope this program will help stabilize housing for newlyweds and families with multiple children," adding, "We will continue to develop a variety of customized policies to help more people settle in Gurye County."

Since 2019, the county has been implementing the mortgage interest subsidy program for newlyweds and families with multiple children. In addition, Gurye County is carrying out various population policies to address the risk of population decline, including providing pay-as-you-throw garbage bags to new residents, marriage congratulatory payments for young couples, and support for childbirth and pregnancy.
