Gimhae City in South Gyeongsang Province has been selected as the host city for next year's Korea Healthy Cities Partnership (KHCP) Annual General Meeting.
The city announced on the 19th that at the 2025 Korea Healthy Cities Partnership Autumn General Meeting, held on the 18th, Gimhae City was unanimously chosen as the host for the 2026 general meeting.
In addition, the city received the Development Award in the development category of the 2025 Healthy City Awards, organized by the partnership, for its "Creating a Health Information-Friendly Public Health Center" initiative.

The partnership highly praised Gimhae City for establishing a foundation that enables citizens to easily access, understand, and utilize health information. The city was recognized for its efforts in developing strategies to improve citizens' health literacy, providing customized health information for vulnerable groups such as foreigners and the elderly, introducing the INMEDIC medical interpretation kiosk, refurbishing the public health center environment and creating citizen-friendly spaces, and producing a city health profile.
The Korea Healthy Cities Partnership, established in 2006, aims to improve the quality of life for citizens and achieve health equity by sharing public policies and information among local governments, leading the way in realizing sustainable healthy cities.
Currently, a total of 103 cities, including Gimhae City which joined in 2019, are participating as full members.
A city official stated, "It is very meaningful to host next year's autumn general meeting in Gimhae," adding, "Through this opportunity, we will widely promote Gimhae City's achievements as a healthy city and further develop our healthy city policies through exchange and cooperation with member cities, so that all citizens can enjoy healthy and happy lives."
