80 Creators Aim for 150 Million Views... 'World Creator Festival' to Be Held in Busan

Producing Busan-Themed Content to Promote the City as a Global Tourism Hub
400 Pieces of Content Linked to "Festival Siwol" from September 21 to October 3

Famous YouTubers and creators with large followings from both Korea and abroad are flocking to Busan, producing a wide array of content. A festival that will spread Busan’s appeal to the world is set to take place.

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced that the "2025 World Creator Festival" will be held from September 27 to 28 at the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch and Lotte Hotel Busan.

Now in its third year, this event will be held in conjunction with "Festival Siwol" (September 21-October 3), Busan’s signature convergence exhibition and convention event. The city has invited more than 80 prominent creators from Korea and abroad, including not only famous YouTubers but also leading creators from various fields with hundreds of thousands to millions of followers.

International creators such as "Koreannosh" from the United Kingdom and "heychambo" from Australia, as well as popular Korean creators like "Cheongdamunnie" and "Jade," will participate. During the festival, they will produce diverse content featuring Busan as the backdrop, helping to showcase the city’s charm to a global audience.

The city aims to produce over 400 pieces of content and achieve more than 150 million views through this event. Visitors will be able to meet creators at major tourist attractions such as Beomeosa, Songdo, and Haeundae. The plan is to solidify Busan’s image, focusing on culture, nightlife, and culinary tourism.

One of the main programs is a meetup event where creators and fans can interact in person. This will take place on September 27 and 28 at the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, featuring talk shows and autograph sessions. Popular Korean creators such as "Cheongdamunnie," "Jade and Yeon PD," and "Today's Family," along with international creators like "Chambo and Koreannosh" and "Greg," will engage with fans. Participants for the fan meetings will be selected by lottery.

On September 28, the "Creator Awards" ceremony will be held at Lotte Hotel Busan, where creators’ works will be showcased.

As part of this event, the city released two episodes of a web variety show in July and August, produced by broadcaster and creator Dex (Kim Jinyoung) and webtoon artist Kian84 (Kim Heemin), centered on traveling in Busan. In September, four small-scale meetups were held with popular creators and fans, promoting Busan through various themes such as restaurants, family trips, accommodations, and fitness.

Kim Hyunjae, Director of Tourism and MICE at Busan Metropolitan Government, stated, "Through this event, festivals unfolding throughout Busan will be vividly shared with the world. We will work to widely promote Busan’s appeal in collaboration with creators and strive to establish Busan as a global tourism hub city."
