Carrying Out Promotion and Idea Generation Activities
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting a 'Citizen Promotion Group' to expand citizen participation ahead of the launch of its general districts in February next year.
The city explained that the recruitment aims to ensure citizens take the lead in the administrative system reorganization and to facilitate the successful launch of the general districts.
To reflect the voices of various social classes and generations, the city plans to form the Citizen Promotion Group by considering diversity in fields such as religion, media, and business, as well as gender, age, and region.
Anyone can participate in the group, including Hwaseong residents, workers, and students whose main sphere of life is in Hwaseong. The city will recruit a total of 200 people, with 50 selected for each district on a first-come, first-served basis.
The selected group will begin with an inaugural ceremony in October and continue their activities until the launch of the districts. Their roles will include scaling up public engagement, gathering citizen opinions, participating in major events, serving as promotional ambassadors, and conducting various promotional and campaign activities.
Those interested can apply online via the QR code on the promotional poster, through in-person registration at local offices, or by submitting an application via email. Members of the group will receive benefits such as community contribution points and recognition of volunteer hours.
Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, stated, "The Promotion Group will serve as a bridge for the successful establishment of the new district office system," and encouraged active participation from interested citizens.
The general districts of Hwaseong City will be divided into four districts-Manse, Hyohang, Byeongjeom, and Dongtan-based on living areas. Temporary district offices will be set up at Manse Hwaseong Sports Complex, a leased building in Bunchon-ri, Bongdam-eup for Hyohang, the Eastern Branch Office for Byeongjeom, and the Dongtan Branch Office for Dongtan.
