This event has been organized to mark Military Family Day, which is designated under the Military Welfare Act.

The festival is designed to be a participatory event and a venue for unity, bringing together soldiers stationed in Yeoncheon, their families, and local residents. Yeoncheon County aims to use this festival as a starting point to strengthen its brand as the site of the upcoming National Cemetery and to establish itself as a city of patriotism and veterans’ affairs.

The opening ceremony on the first day, September 26, at 5 p.m., will feature a military band performance and a helicopter formation flight. In addition, a special live broadcast of SBS’s "Yoo Minsang’s Hungry Radio" will take place, with popular singers such as F9, BB Girls, and Hong Kyungmin performing, providing a variety of entertainment for attendees.

At the festival site, the latest military equipment such as the K2 tank and K9 self-propelled howitzer will be on display. There will also be hands-on booths for families, including children’s military uniform experiences, survival games, a balance bike competition, and an air bounce zone. Food booths will be set up by local merchants, restaurants, and food trucks, along with a flea market.

Additionally, a camping event for military families called "Paleolithic Outside the Tent" will take place from September 25 to 26 for one night and two days. A variety of programs are planned, including a family sports day, a cooking class with a chef, and recreational activities with comedians.

A Yeoncheon County official stated, "This Military Family Festival will be a special occasion where soldiers, their families, and local residents can come together," adding, "We will do our best to strengthen the sense of community and widely promote Yeoncheon County’s cultural and tourism resources."
