The Busan Social Service Center (Director: Yoo Kyuwon) held a ceremony on September 17 at the Saha-gu General Social Welfare Center (Director: Kim Bosu) to deliver project funds in support of young family caregivers participating in the 'Busan Youth Care Connection' initiative, in collaboration with the Busan branch of World Vision (Regional Director: Lee Hyun).

This ceremony marked the official launch of a public-private partnership system, as the 'Busan Youth Care Connection' project, led by the Busan Social Service Center, is now being jointly implemented by the World Vision Busan branch and the Saha-gu General Social Welfare Center.
The delivered project funds will be used by the Saha-gu General Social Welfare Center to provide customized integrated services to local young family caregivers, including: ▲ support for future dreams (education expenses, psychological counseling fees, self-development costs), ▲ livelihood support (living expenses, housing costs, housing environment improvement), and ▲ medical and care support (medical expenses, nursing care fees).
Since this year, the Busan Social Service Center has made the 'Busan Youth Care Connection' project a key priority to support isolated and reclusive youth, as well as young family caregivers. By launching an online integrated application portal, the center has improved accessibility to support, and is building a safety net in cooperation with public and private institutions in Busan so that young people can access a variety of social services.
Within this collaborative model, the Busan Social Service Center is responsible for overall project management, quality control, and financial support, while the Saha-gu General Social Welfare Center alleviates the burden of care by dispatching in-home care workers. With additional support from World Vision, it is expected that young family caregivers will be able to temporarily set aside their caregiving responsibilities and plan for their futures on a more secure foundation.
Yoo Kyuwon, Director of the Busan Social Service Center, stated, "Eliminating new blind spots in welfare cannot be achieved by the efforts of a single institution alone. Diverse public-private partnerships are more important than ever," adding, "By serving as the central hub, the Busan Social Service Center will connect local resources and further advance the 'Busan Youth Care Connection' project, standing firmly by the side of young people in need."
