Mudflat Experience and Performance Festival
Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on September 19 that the 16th Yeosu Yeojaman Mudflat Sunset Experience Event will be held over two days, from September 20 to 21, at the Haenomi-gil area in Sora-myeon. This event is designed to allow visitors to fully enjoy the autumn sea by experiencing the enchanting sunset, mudflat ecology, and culture unique to Yeojaman Bay.
The 16th Yeosu Yeojaman Mudflat Sunset Experience Event will be held on the 20th and 21st at the Haenomi-gil area in Sora-myeon, Yeosu. Provided by Yeosu City
The main experience programs include bamboo goby fishing, clam digging, bare-handed fish catching, and a treasure hunt on Bokgae Island, all of which are open for children and families to participate in directly.
This year, the number of awardees for the student drawing contest and the youth dance festival has been increased. Additionally, a mudflat sunset photo contest and a bare-handed abalone picking experience have been newly added, offering participants even more special memories.
Furthermore, new stage programs such as the Sunset Song Festival, Sunset Concert, Happy Bubble Balloon Show, and Mudflat Squid Game will provide a variety of entertainment options. Other side events will also be held, including family asphalt painting, sunset face painting, soap making, and a flea market.
Mayor Jung Kimyung stated, "This event, set against the backdrop of Yeojaman Bay's mudflats and sunsets, is more than just a festival; it is a meaningful time where nature, people, and the environment come together. I hope that many citizens and tourists will participate safely and joyfully, and fully enjoy the charm of Yeosu along with the romance of autumn."
