The 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival kicked off on September 19, with the "Ginseng Harvesting" experience tour-where families laugh and enjoy together-receiving an enthusiastic response.
The "harvest, create, taste, and enjoy" ginseng harvesting experience event, part of the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival that celebrates the abundance of autumn, is held at the ginseng field located at 1006-35, Cheonnae-ri, Jewon-myeon, Geumsan County.
This experience takes place in a 3,660-square-meter field of five-year-old ginseng, certified under the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) program, and is designed to allow families to laugh, have fun, and experience Geumsan ginseng up close.
Participation in the ginseng harvesting is free of charge, while paid programs such as making ginseng bath bombs and pressed flower frames are also available. In addition, visitors can enjoy ginseng-inspired foods such as ginseng tortilla, Samtteok Samtteok, red ginseng ade, and ginseng ice cream.
Through this event, Geumsan County aims to widely promote itself as the global center of ginseng, boost ginseng sales and consumption, and showcase the limitless value of ginseng through a variety of food and hands-on experiences.
An official from the county said, "The ginseng harvesting experience will go beyond a simple rural activity and become a special time for families to laugh together and create lasting memories," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity to share the excellence of Geumsan ginseng with people from around the world."
The official continued, "Under the clear autumn sky, families can harvest, create, taste, and enjoy together in the ginseng fields, and experience the charm of Geumsan ginseng-a healthy root that is capturing the world's attention-while receiving a warm welcome prepared by the people of Geumsan County."
