This restructuring is a strategic move aimed at transforming the university into an industry-academia cooperation-centered institution. The core of this reform is the establishment of the SK-RISE Project Group, which will be exclusively responsible for the RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) initiative led by the Ministry of Education.

Through this restructuring, Seokyeong University has created the position of Vice President for Research and Industry-Academia Cooperation, who will oversee all aspects of industry-academia collaboration, career development, and entrepreneurship. Under this vice president, the following departments have been established: Career and Employment Office, Industry-Academia Research Office, Industry-Academia Cooperation Group, Startup Support Group, and National Policy Project Group.

The Career and Employment Office includes the University Job Plus Headquarters, Career and Employment Support Center, and Field Training Support Center, providing comprehensive and systematic support for students’ career exploration, job preparation, and field experience.

The Industry-Academia Research Office consists of the Research Planning Division and the Research Ethics Center, strengthening the planning and policy-making for research support and the management of research projects. The Creative Industry-Academia Education Institute will comprehensively manage and operate non-curricular educational programs.

The Startup Support Group comprises the Startup Support Center, Startup Incubation Center, and Startup Education Center, providing comprehensive support for entrepreneurial activities by students and faculty. The National Policy Project Group consists of the SK-RISE Project Group and the Cultural Project Management Group, taking charge of government and local government policy projects as well as regional cultural projects.

The centerpiece of this restructuring is the establishment of the SK-RISE Project Group. The RISE initiative is a new university financial support policy led by the Ministry of Education, aiming to foster regional innovation through collaboration among local governments, industries, and universities, with regional hub universities at its core.

The Seokyeong University SK-RISE Project Group will focus on nurturing talent based on industrial demand and specialization, discovering collaborative projects with local governments and companies, promoting education and research aimed at solving community issues, and supporting youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Lee Cheolmin, Vice President for Research and Industry-Academia Cooperation at Seokyeong University, stated, "This organizational restructuring and the establishment of the SK-RISE Project Group mark a significant turning point in our transition to an industry-academia cooperation-centered university. By connecting the university’s specialized capabilities to regional and national development, we aim to become a central university for regional innovation that fosters creative, convergent talent required by future society and promotes mutual growth through collaboration with the community and industry."

Going forward, Seokyeong University plans to further advance industry-academia cooperation centered on the SK-RISE Project Group, creating an innovative ecosystem that links education, research, industry, and the local community.
