"Red Bull 400" is a world-renowned extreme running competition that began in Austria in 2011. Participants must run in reverse up a ski jumping hill with a maximum incline of 38 degrees, reaching a finish line equivalent to the height of a 40-story building; the first to arrive wins. Since its debut in Pyeongchang in 2019-the first time it was held in Korea-the event has become a signature sports event utilizing Olympic legacy facilities, drawing significant attention both last year and again this year.

This year, approximately 1,000 athletes are expected to participate, with the competition divided into five categories: individual (men and women), two-person relay (men and mixed), and four-person relay (women). The winners of the individual events will earn the right to compete in the "Red Bull 400" competition scheduled to be held in Sapporo, Japan, in 2026.

On the day of the event, a variety of side events will also be held, including a ski jump tube slide, biathlon shooting experience, local food tasting booths, and Red Bull partner experience zones, creating a festive atmosphere for both participants and spectators to enjoy.

Shim Jaeguk, Mayor of Pyeongchang County, stated, "As the 'Red Bull 400 Pyeongchang' competition is being held in the Olympic city of Pyeongchang, I ask for your keen interest," adding, "I hope this event will go beyond being a mere sports competition and become a platform for revitalizing local tourism by utilizing our Olympic legacy."
