Gyeonggi Province held the Dream Ulim Festival for out-of-school youth.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Province Out-of-School Youth Support Center announced on the 19th that they held the "8th Gyeonggi Province Dream Ulim Festival" on the 18th at the Gyeonggi Province Youth Training Center in Ansan City, with more than 850 attendees including out-of-school youth and leaders from 31 cities and counties.
Launched in 2018, the Dream Ulim Festival is Gyeonggi Province's signature event designed to enhance the self-reliance of out-of-school youth and provide opportunities for cultural exchange.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was held virtually, but since 2022 it has returned to an in-person event, becoming a venue where youth can gather and participate directly.
This year's event featured programs tailored to youth, including the Dream Ulim Sports Day, Dream Ulim Arts Festival, Self-Reliance Expo, and hands-on experience booths.
In particular, the Dream Ulim Sports Day was organized to reflect the wishes of out-of-school youth, with four team-based competitions: Vision Tower Stacking, Tug-of-War, Roll the Earth, and Relay Race.

The grand prize went to the "Kkumttanttan" team from the Pyeongtaek Out-of-School Youth Support Center, while the top excellence awards were given to the "Hakyeong" team from Osan and the "Swize" team from Goyang. In addition, the excellence awards were presented to three teams: "Zeronos" from Yongin, "Flute Duo" from Anyang, and "Goldfish Band" from Yangju, with four other teams receiving encouragement awards.
The Self-Reliance Expo offered experiences such as youth group election simulations, booths by the Youth Participation Committee, job experience programs, and a no-smoking campaign.
Oh Gwangseok, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Office of Future Lifelong Education, said, "The Gyeonggi Province Dream Ulim Festival is a valuable opportunity for out-of-school youth to take the lead in finding and expressing their dreams," adding, "We will continue to implement various policies and support measures to help youth become more self-reliant."
