On September 18, Hotel Shilla announced through a public disclosure that its board of directors had decided to return the DF1 duty-free business license at Incheon International Airport, operated by Shilla Duty Free.
The company explained the reason by stating, "We expect excessive losses and have determined that the value of continued operations is less than the liquidation value." Regarding the impact of the suspension of operations, the company added, "A short-term decrease in sales is expected, but we anticipate an overall improvement in the company's financial health in the mid- to long-term."
