Shinan County in South Jeolla Province has officially launched a "Premium Consulting" initiative to enhance the competitiveness of the island's Beolnakji (mud octopus) food specialty street and to promote the local economy and tourism.
The county announced on the 18th that, through this consulting project, it plans to develop unique food offerings and experiential content that highlight the distinct characteristics of the Beolnakji food specialty street. These will be linked to local festivals and travel packages to encourage a continuous influx of tourists.
To achieve this, the merchants' association and a professional consulting firm will collaborate on improving the surrounding business environment, developing street design, planning experiential content, and establishing marketing strategies. In particular, the county aims to introduce customized programs to boost visitor satisfaction and strengthen both digital and offline promotional channels, with the goal of transforming the island's Beolnakji food specialty street into a sustainable tourist attraction.
Previously, on the 11th, a meeting was held between the merchants' association and the consulting firm to discuss the project's direction and strategies in detail.
A county official stated, "We expect this consulting initiative to help brand the island's Beolnakji food specialty street and establish it as a sustainable attraction," adding, "We will continue to provide administrative support to revitalize the food specialty street."
