The Local Content Lab is an educational program on broadcasting and video content production, jointly operated by Namseoul University, TJB Daejeon Broadcasting, Daejeon CBS, and CMB as part of the Chungnam RISE (Regional Innovation-led University Support System) project. In August, a creative camp was held during the summer vacation as a preliminary activity. The program aims to provide students with hands-on experience and to produce and disseminate content that reflects the values of the Chungnam region.
The agreement ceremony, held on September 17 at the Volunteer Hall of the Knowledge Information Center, was attended by Yoon Seungyong, President of Namseoul University; Kim Saebeom, CEO of TJB Daejeon Broadcasting; Kim Hwayoung, CEO of Daejeon CBS; Kim Gunho, Head of Platform Innovation at CMB; and other key executives from each organization. Through this agreement, the four organizations have agreed to cooperate in discovering the value of the Chungnam region, nurturing talent to contribute to the production and dissemination of video and audio content and regional revitalization, and establishing a local content ecosystem.
The Local Content Lab will be operated until December, with a total of nine students participating. The students will collaborate with production teams from each broadcasting company to produce and program content in various formats, such as documentaries, lifestyle information, and short-form videos, focusing on the assets and issues of the Chungnam region.
Yoon Seungyong, President of Namseoul University, stated, "This agreement marks the starting point for nurturing creators based on the connection between K-Content and the local community. I hope that cooperation between the university and broadcasting companies will help revitalize the regional media ecosystem, focusing on young creators."
Namseoul University plans to continuously advance its model for cultivating convergent and innovative talent by linking practical media education with the local content creation ecosystem, based on this agreement.
