The city has been temporarily suspending morning parking enforcement on Sundays since July 21 as a pilot program, and after operating it for about two months, will expand the suspension to Saturdays and public holidays starting in October.

Accordingly, from October, morning parking enforcement will be suspended across all areas of the city on Saturdays and public holidays (including Sundays), while enforcement will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

However, vehicles parked within 5 meters of intersections, within 10 meters of bus stops, within 5 meters of fire hydrants, on crosswalks, sidewalks, or in other strictly prohibited parking areas, or those that impede traffic flow and safety, will be subject to enforcement without exception.

In particular, starting from National Foundation Day on October 3, which marks the beginning of a seven-day holiday period, the morning parking enforcement suspension will be in effect, and it is expected to help boost consumption and revitalize the local economy during the holiday.

Additionally, the city plans to fully suspend afternoon parking enforcement during the official Chuseok holiday period (including substitute holidays) from October 5 to 8, in order to minimize parking inconveniences for residents traveling to and from their hometowns.

Choi Jonghun, head of the Parking Management Division, stated, "We will continue to implement flexible parking enforcement policies to inject vitality into the stagnant local economy," adding, "However, we will thoroughly manage on-site operations to ensure that public safety and traffic flow are not compromised."
