Seoul Gangseo-gu Veterans Association Visits Ulleungdo and Dokdo for "Veterans Day 2025"

Three-Day Visit to Ulleungdo and Dokdo
Honoring Patriots and Experiencing Love for the Nation

Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Nam Han-gwon) announced that approximately 43 members of the Seoul Gangseo-gu Veterans Association (Chairman Han Myung-hyun) visited Ulleungdo and Dokdo from September 15 to 17 to commemorate "Veterans Day 2025."

Through this visit, members of the Gangseo-gu Veterans Association toured major historical sites in Ulleungdo and visited Dokdo, fostering a spirit of patriotism and taking time to honor the legacy of the patriots who dedicated themselves to Korea’s independence.


This visit was more than just a sightseeing trip; it served as an opportunity for the members to reflect on the historical and strategic significance of Ulleungdo, and it further strengthened the bonds between Ulleung County and the Seoul Gangseo-gu Veterans Association.


Participants also experienced the history and culture of Ulleungdo, enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery of Dokdo, and fully immersed themselves in both islands during the three-day, two-night trip.


The Gangseo-gu Veterans Association presented Ulleung County with 200 medium-sized Taegeukgi flags, expressing their deep gratitude to the county in celebration of "Veterans Day." On this occasion, Ulleung County also expressed its sincere appreciation to the Gangseo-gu Veterans Association, promising to continue fostering friendship and to join forces for the prosperity and security of Korea.


Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, "I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to the members of the Seoul Gangseo-gu Veterans Association. I hope this visit serves as a meaningful opportunity to reaffirm that Ulleung County stands at the forefront of national security on Korea’s easternmost frontier. I also expect that experiencing Ulleungdo and Dokdo firsthand will help strengthen your appreciation for Korea’s history and culture, and further solidify your spirit of patriotism."
