Safety and health education for foreign workers has entered the VR era.
On September 17, the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, led by Director Jeong Jongdeuk, opened a "VR Experience Training Center" at the Busan Foreign Workers Support Center in Yeonje District.
This facility is a training center equipped with advanced virtual reality technology, designed so that foreign workers can receive industrial accident prevention training in an easy and intuitive manner. It was established in collaboration with the Busan Foreign Workers Support Center to allow workers to vividly experience hazardous situations commonly encountered at industrial sites and to learn safety rules effectively.
It is expected to greatly help foreign workers, who have previously struggled to understand safety training due to language and cultural differences, to adapt more safely to the workplace.
The Busan Regional Headquarters plans to use the opening ceremony as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the Busan Foreign Workers Support Center, expand customized safety and health support for foreign workers, and take the lead in creating safe workplaces and an inclusive local community.
Director Jeong Jongdeuk emphasized, "This VR Experience Training Center will be a great help for foreign workers to naturally learn safety rules by seeing and experiencing them firsthand. We will expand field-oriented experiential safety education to create an environment where all workers can work safely without discrimination."
