The event attracted more than 20 officials from Pohang City, the Pohang Forest Cooperative, and food tech company RoboArte, as well as over 200 citizens, making it a great success. Demonstrations of a gimbap rolling machine and a frying robot were held on-site, and free tasting experiences for citizens received an enthusiastic response.

In particular, RoboArte's frying robot, which incorporates the company's technology, drew attention as an innovative model with high commercial potential. The Pohang Forest Cooperative has also been recognized as a leading example of implementing a smart kitchen by installing the gimbap rolling machine as part of its local food tech industry ecosystem support project, and by additionally installing the frying robot with its own budget.

Son Byungwoong, head of the Forest Cooperative, stated, "The introduction of these food tech devices will enhance the added value of local agricultural and livestock products and provide hygienic and speedy services. The cooperative will continue to actively strengthen competitiveness in partnership with restaurant businesses, based on advanced technology."

Kang Jiyeong, CEO of RoboArte, also commented, "It was a meaningful occasion to confirm the practical utility of our technology in the field," and promised to develop customized automation solutions and pursue regional co-growth in the future.

Pohang City organized this event as an extension of the "Local Food Tech Industry Ecosystem Development Project" that began in August. Following the distribution of the gimbap rolling machine to the Forest Cooperative, the city further established the foundation for food tech technology expansion by introducing the frying robot in September. Additionally, the city is accelerating the digital transformation of the restaurant industry by pursuing various projects, including building a foundation for the restaurant sector, commercializing restaurant and food tech solutions, and establishing a food tech research support center for food robotics.

Furthermore, the Food Tech Industry Committee, launched on September 1, includes 20 experts from industry, academia, research, and government, who discussed global strategies, attracting businesses, and securing national funding. Pohang City plans to use this as a springboard to foster food tech as a future strategic industry and to create new growth engines for the local economy and restaurant sector.

A city official said, "This was a meaningful occasion where the Forest Cooperative and RoboArte took the lead in spreading food tech," adding, "We will continue to strengthen public-private cooperation to establish a sustainable industrial ecosystem."
