Nazareth University RISE Signs MOU with Rehabilitation, Medical Device, and Welfare Organizations

Promoting Regional Innovation Through Industry-Academia Collaboration

The RISE Smart Rehabilitation Welfare ESG Management Center at Nazareth University announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with rehabilitation assistive device and medical device companies, as well as welfare organizations.

This agreement, which was held on the 15th at the Disabled Student Support Center in the Nazareth Building, aims to strengthen the collaborative system among industry, academia, research, and government for innovation in the rehabilitation and welfare industry and the spread of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values. It also seeks to improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly.


The participating organizations-Seosan Disabled Welfare Center, Gusanwon, Dodam Development Center, Joeun Medical Devices, and Honey Workshop-expressed their shared understanding of the development direction of the rehabilitation assistive device and medical device industry and the importance of ESG practices, reaffirming their commitment to close cooperation.


Through this agreement, the participating organizations agreed to: △ establish a consultative body for information exchange and mutual cooperation among industry, academia, research, and government; △ jointly operate customized education and training programs for people with disabilities and the elderly; and △ promote joint projects related to ESG.


Juhye Yuk, lead professor at the RISE Smart Rehabilitation Welfare ESG Management Center, stated, "This agreement marks an important step toward a sustainable cooperation model for the rehabilitation and welfare industry in the ESG era," adding, "The center will create tangible changes for people with disabilities and the elderly through field-oriented innovation and close network collaboration."


Through the signing of this agreement, the competitiveness of the rehabilitation assistive device and medical device industry is expected to be further strengthened, while digital accessibility and support for independent living among people with disabilities and the elderly will be expanded. In addition, various social effects such as job creation in the local community, support for startups, and the promotion of growth for social economy enterprises are also anticipated.
