GKL Holds Healing Trip for Families of Brain-Dead Organ Donors to Mark Organ Donation Day in September

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL, CEO Yoon Doohyun) and the GKL Social Contribution Foundation (Chairman Lee Jaekyung) will operate the "Our Family Healing Trip" program for the families of brain-dead organ donors from September 19 (Friday) to September 21 (Sunday), a three-day, two-night event in the Suncheon and Yeosu areas of South Jeolla Province, to commemorate Organ Donation Day and Life Sharing Week in September.

This trip is designed to honor the noble love shared by the deceased through organ donation and to provide comfort, gratitude, and psychological healing to the bereaved families. Now in its second year, the healing trip for the families of brain-dead organ donors will offer healing programs to a total of around 70 family members.

The main itinerary includes a tour of Suncheon Naganeupseong Fortress, visits to Suncheonman Wetland and the National Garden, sunset viewing at Waon Beach, healing yoga, a terrarium-making experience, and a trip to Odongdo Island in Yeosu with a ride on the marine cable car. In addition, a concert by the local musician "Heo Yoonjung Trio" will be held to provide comfort through music.

In previous programs, the healing concert for the bereaved families received a great response, and the terrarium-making experience was highly satisfying as people of all ages could enjoy it and keep their creations. Furthermore, participants shared that having time to communicate and share their stories with each other was a great source of strength, so this session is expected to further strengthen such opportunities for connection.

A representative from the GKL Social Contribution Foundation said, "We hope this will be a time for families to honor the wishes of their loved ones who shared love and to share their pain with each other in a warm and comforting environment," adding, "We will continue to carry out social contribution activities for healing and mutual growth through various programs in partnership with the socially disadvantaged."

The GKL Social Contribution Foundation is a public interest corporation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, established in 2014 with funding from the tourism public enterprise Grand Korea Leisure (GKL). The social enterprise Good Travel Co., Ltd. is operating the "Our Family Healing Trip" program as a partner organization.
