"The Hot Yeol Ramen Cup Noodles" Launch Nationwide at Convenience Stores on the 17th Following Strong Sales
Ottogi announced on September 17 that its new product, "The Hot Yeol Ramen," which reflects the value of regional coexistence, surpassed cumulative sales of 2 million units within just three weeks of its launch.
"The Hot Yeol Ramen" is a product developed through a business agreement (MOU) with Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province, a region facing a population decline crisis. The ramen is packed with the local specialty, Yeongyang chili peppers. According to the company, the product is about 1.5 times spicier than the original Yeol Ramen and features a clean aftertaste, both of which have received positive consumer feedback.
Riding on the popularity of the product, Ottogi has newly introduced "The Hot Yeol Ramen Cup Noodles," which offer enhanced convenience and portability. "The Hot Yeol Ramen Cup Noodles" will be available at convenience stores nationwide starting today.
Ottogi is also strengthening its brand experience through various consumer participation promotions. Until October 31, the company is running the "Let's Go to HOT Yeongyang with The Hot Yeol Ramen!" event. Customers who verify their purchase or consumption of the product by posting a photo on social networking services (SNS) will be entered into a drawing to win a stay at a traditional Korean house in Yeongyang County or a Yeongyang Love Gift Certificate worth 50,000 won.
An Ottogi representative stated, "The success of The Hot Yeol Ramen is the result of the synergy between outstanding product quality and the regional specialty, Yeongyang chili peppers. Going forward, we aim to become a brand that both connects more closely with consumers through The Hot Yeol Ramen in both packet and cup forms, and actively practices regional coexistence."
