[Breaking] Bus Fire in Maseong Tunnel, Yongin... 1 Seriously Injured, 10 Slightly Injured

At 9:17 p.m. on September 16, a fire broke out on a bus traveling toward Gangneung in the Maseong Tunnel on the Yeongdong Expressway in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The fire authorities issued a Level 2 response at 9:44 p.m., deploying 24 fire trucks and 72 firefighters. The blaze was brought under control at around 10:09 p.m. As a result of the incident, one person sustained serious injuries and ten others suffered minor injuries.

The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once it has been fully extinguished.
