The Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation announced on the 16th that it will conduct a "Safety Inspection of the Urban Railway Line 2 Construction Site" until the 26th to prevent safety accidents for citizens ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

This inspection is being carried out with a focus on preventing traffic and safety accidents, taking into account the characteristics of construction sites where traffic volume increases and the likelihood of external visitors rises during the holiday period. In particular, the inspection will concentrate on confirming the management status of areas directly related to citizen safety, such as traffic facilities and temporary structures.

The main inspection items include: ▲ the installation and maintenance status of traffic facilities to ensure the safety of vehicles and pedestrians; ▲ the establishment of emergency contact networks and the organization and operation of emergency response teams; ▲ the maintenance status of road markings, steel plates, potholes, and other road and sidewalk facilities; and ▲ the management of safety hazards and the organization of materials around the construction site. Minor issues that can be addressed on-site will be resolved immediately during the inspection process, while for risk factors requiring reinforcement or repair, improvement measures will be developed and implemented before the Chuseok holiday begins.

Oh Younggeol, Head of the Urban Railway Construction Headquarters, emphasized, "With the Chuseok holiday approaching, we will put citizen safety first and conduct thorough inspections," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure a safe holiday without accidents."
