"Become a Governing Party That Reflects the Common Sense of the People"

According to the Korea Christian Federation, during the meeting, Chairman Kim asked Jang to pursue politics that promote coexistence and reflect the common sense of the people. He stated, "What the people want is for both the ruling and opposition parties to grow healthily, compete, and lead politics. What is expected of the opposition is to become a party capable of governing. This way, we can prevent the ruling party from monopolizing power and further develop Korea through better politics."
Chairman Kim also expressed concern that the current political landscape is leaning toward extremes, emphasizing, "The Korean church does not support either the far left or the far right." He continued, addressing the People Power Party, "The public cannot accept ideas such as using the military to govern, especially when people remember the previous administration's ties to shamanism, pseudo-religions, and the pain of military dictatorship. Please overcome the past administration's mistakes and build a healthy opposition party."
Regarding the proposed amendment to the Government Organization Act, which would reorganize the 'Ministry of Gender Equality and Family' into the 'Ministry of Gender Equality and Family,' he made his opposition clear, stating, "This reflects the voices of extreme progressives and will continue to face criticism from the church." The Protestant community has long opposed the concept of gender equality, arguing that it goes beyond equality between men and women and recognizes a third gender.
In response, Jang said, "I will make sure to take your valuable advice into consideration in party operations." He expressed agreement with concerns over the name change to the 'Ministry of Gender Equality and Family,' stating, "Our party has continuously raised issues with this matter." Jang added, "During the recent meeting with the President, I clearly conveyed our party’s concerns and our position that we cannot agree with this change. We will continue to voice our stance."
Finally, Jang said, "If the opposition party makes mistakes or veers too far to the left or right, we will listen carefully to the church’s candid advice. Please continue to speak out so that the foundations of Korea and its Constitution are not undermined."
Attending the meeting from the People Power Party were Assemblyman Kim Kiheon, Assemblywoman Cho Baesook, and Chief Spokesperson Choi Boyoon. From the Korea Christian Federation, Secretary General Shin Pyungsik and Corporate Secretary General Jeong Chansu were present.
