Busan Craft Beer Evaluation, Pop-up Store
Strengthening Company Capabilities, Supporting Small Business Sales Channels
Where is the throne of craft beer?
The city of Busan (Mayor Park Hyungjun) announced on the 17th that it will host the "2025 Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge" for five days from September 20 to 24 at the outdoor plaza of BEXCO.
Since 2018, the city has held this event to strengthen the capabilities of local craft beer companies and support small business owners in expanding their sales channels. Last year, the event was held at BEXCO over two days, but this year, in connection with "Festival October," the duration has been extended to five days and the scale has been expanded.
The main events include the opening ceremony, a beer concert, a craft beer evaluation, a craft beer pop-up store, and the operation of the Brewers Lounge. The opening ceremony stage will feature Cyburger, a singer from Busan, and the closing ceremony will feature a performance by singer-songwriter Choi Yuri.
The "Craft Beer Evaluation" will involve both general visitors and a panel of expert judges. From September 20 to 23, the general public will participate in the judging, and on the 23rd, six experts in the fields of beer and gastronomy will conduct their evaluations. The company that produces the best beer this year will be awarded a "Winner Certificate." Citizens wishing to participate in the general judging can apply in advance through the Eventus website by the 23rd or register on-site during the event. Judging participation slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition, the "Brewers Lounge" will provide a networking opportunity for domestic and international visitors and industry professionals.
Side events will include a pop-up store selling products from small business owners who participated in city support programs, a unique dessert flea market, a lifestyle exercise challenge, and a craft beer label design experience.
Kim Bongcheol, Director of the Digital Economy Office of the city, stated, "This event will strengthen the capabilities of craft beer companies, support the development of new sales channels, and provide citizens with a festival full of diverse food and entertainment. We will continue to support the Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge so that it can grow into Asia's leading craft beer festival in the future."
