This event was organized to introduce customized support programs for faculty startup companies at Pukyong National University and to facilitate the establishment and activation of entrepreneurship-related networks.
On this day, more than 50 participants attended, including representatives of faculty startup companies at Pukyong National University, professors preparing to start their own businesses, the president and staff of the Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute, and representatives of investment firms. The event featured briefings on Busan City's entrepreneurship support programs, startup and investment consultations, and networking between companies and organizations.
Faculty startup companies refer to venture businesses established based on advanced technologies developed in university laboratories. Pukyong National University, led by its Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, actively encourages faculty entrepreneurship to contribute to regional industrial development through the university's innovative technologies.
Currently, 30 faculty startup companies are registered at Pukyong National University. Thirty professors have successfully launched startups and are serving as CEOs of venture companies in fields such as new drug development, optical devices, medical equipment, and composite materials, while four professors are preparing to start their own businesses.
Pukyong National University plans to continue providing tailored support for faculty startups, including consulting for advanced technology commercialization, intellectual property applications, product development, and marketing, in addition to this event.
