Through the "2026 Haengjuga Art Night Project," the city aims to discover and nurture unique nighttime content exclusive to Haengju Fortress by selecting seven themes, which will be developed into programs unique to Haengju Fortress.
Each theme consists of content that reinterprets the historical, cultural, and artistic assets of Haengju Fortress in a modern way. Specifically, "Night View" (Yagyeong) will create beautiful photo spots under the program "Haengju Eight Colors, Eight Nights"; "Night Road" (Yaro) will offer "Haengju Gwageogil," a walk along the examination paths of Joseon-era warriors and scholars; and "Night Setting" (Yaseol) will feature "The Resonance of Haengju," a fortress music concert blending tradition and modernity at the summit of Haengju Fortress, Chunguijeong Pavilion.
"Night History" (Yasa) will present the role-play performance "That Night in Haengju," prepared by recruiting local youth interested in theater and film. "Night Painting" (Yahwa) will offer "Haengju Obangyahwa," a storytelling program about the dancheong (traditional decorative coloring) and flag stories of Haengju Fortress, using the five cardinal colors. Finally, "Night Market" (Yasi) will feature "Haengju Haenghwagil," a collaborative promotion with nearby businesses around Haengju Fortress.
Through these seven "Night" themes, the city plans to reinterpret the historical significance of the Battle of Haengju-one of the three great victories of the Imjin War-in a modern context, delivering the inspiration of cultural heritage and the charm of nighttime tourism to both citizens and visitors.

A city official stated, "The selection of 'Haengjuga Art Night' for the National Heritage Night Tour for two consecutive years will significantly enhance the historical and cultural value of Haengju Fortress, Goyang Special City's representative heritage, and raise its recognition both domestically and internationally. We will continue to develop this into a premium nighttime tourism program created together with local artists, businesses, and citizens."
Meanwhile, the "National Heritage Night Tour" contest hosted by the National Heritage Agency is a program that operates nighttime-specialized tourism programs by connecting national heritage sites and surrounding cultural content across the country. For 2026, a total of 77 projects were submitted, and 55 programs were ultimately selected.
