"San Neomeo Friends" Chosen for Healing Message

Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 16th that it had received the Excellence Award at the Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival.
This festival selected winners through expert evaluation and a nationwide online vote, targeting characters created by the Korean government, local governments, and public institutions.
Sancheong County won the Excellence Award with its tourism character, "San Neomeo Friends." San Neomeo Friends are characters that represent Jirisan Mountain, the Gyeongho River, the county flower cotton, and the county bird, the oriole.
In particular, the message that exhausted bodies and minds can be healed through Sancheong's representative tourist attractions was highly praised. As a benefit of this award, Sancheong County participated in the "2025 Daejeon Content Fair" held on the 13th and 14th.
At the event, San Neomeo Friends and major tourist attractions were promoted, and San Neomeo Friends merchandise was distributed to visitors as event gifts, receiving an enthusiastic response.
County Governor Lee Seunghwa said, "We will continue to promote various projects utilizing our tourism character to invigorate the local tourism industry," adding, "We will further strengthen tourism marketing activities both online and offline to accelerate efforts to attract more tourists."
