Promoting the Beauty of Yangnam Columnar Jointing
A Venue for Unity and Solidarity Among Local Residents
Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (headed by Jeong Wonho) supported the 7th Yangnam Columnar Jointing Harmony Festival, which was held on September 13 at the Haseo Port area in Yangnam-myeon, Gyeongju.
This festival was organized to widely promote the beauty of the columnar jointing, a major local tourist attraction, and to foster unity and solidarity among local residents. Many institutional and organizational leaders, including Wolsong Headquarters Chief Jeong Wonho and city and provincial council members, attended and delivered congratulatory remarks.
At the festival site, the fresh agricultural and marine products sales corner showcased local specialties from the Donggyeongju area, drawing significant attention from both residents and tourists. Various attractions were provided, including performances by participants in the Yangnam Residents' Self-Governance Program, guest singer performances, and prize draws.
Kim Wondo, Chairman of the Yangnam-myeon Development Council, who organized this event, expressed his gratitude to Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters and other local institutions for their wholehearted support, saying, "I hope that this largest event of the year in Yangnam will be a happy day where all residents gather in one place and share warm affection."
Chief Jeong Wonho stated, "We will work together to widely promote the columnar jointing, a beautiful natural heritage of the region," and added, "Wolsong Headquarters will continue to communicate directly with the local community, grow together, and put the value of mutual prosperity into practice."
In particular, at this festival, Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters actively promoted the company by screening promotional videos, operating a promotional booth, providing information on Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power support projects, the continued operation of Wolsong Units 2, 3, and 4, and introducing Wolsong Headquarters' local support projects to enhance community acceptance.
Wolsong Headquarters plans to continue discovering and supporting various projects that contribute to the development of local culture and the revitalization of the regional economy as a member of the local community.
