More Than 130 Experts from Korea and Abroad Participate
The National Police Agency announced on September 16 that it will host the 2025 International Conference on Narcotics Investigation (ICON) through September 17.
The International Conference on Narcotics Investigation has brought together more than 130 experts from Korea and abroad. Delegations from 27 countries, including the United States, France, the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, and Malaysia, as well as representatives from four international organizations-Interpol, ASEANAPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the International Narcotics Control Board-are attending the event.
This conference will cover topics such as: investigation cases involving non-face-to-face drug distribution using encrypted messengers; strategies for tracking money laundering related to drug trafficking and recovering illegal proceeds; and the future of narcotics investigations driven by advanced technology.
A representative from the National Police Agency stated, "As the issue of young generations falling into drug abuse is emerging as a serious social concern, it is essential for various countries and organizations to join forces, share experiences, and strengthen cooperation. We hope this will be a step forward toward a safer future for everyone."
