President Lee Jaemyung presented letters of appointment to seven officials, including Choi Gyojin, Minister of Education, and Won Minkyoung, Minister of Gender Equality and Family. With this, the formation of the first Cabinet was completed 104 days after President Lee's inauguration.
On the 15th, at the presidential office in Yongsan, President Lee presented appointment letters to Minister Choi, Minister Won, and others, saying, "I look forward to working with you. Congratulations." He then gave bouquets to their spouses and family members and took commemorative photos.
The appointments of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Gender Equality and Family were relatively delayed, as former candidates Lee Jinsook and Kang Sunwoo withdrew from consideration.
At the ceremony, Kang Hunsik, Chief Presidential Secretary, joked to Minister Won, who attended with her mother and mother-in-law, "You look exactly like your mother. Anyone could tell you are related."
In addition, President Lee presented letters of appointment to Lee Eokwon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission; Joo Byungki, Chairman of the Fair Trade Commission; and Cha Jeongin, Chairman of the National Education Commission, who were approved for appointment on the 12th. He also presented letters of commission to Lee Seokyeon, Chairman of the National Integration Committee; Kim Jinae, Chairman of the National Architectural Policy Committee; and Kim Ho, Chairman of the Special Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Affairs.
