Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and the city of Gumi will host the "2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Semiconductor Talent Platform-Matching Day" at the GUMICO Convention Center on September 18.

This event is designed to support job matching between local universities, specialized high school students, young job seekers, and regional companies leading the semiconductor industry. It also aims to provide opportunities for career exploration and advancement in the semiconductor field.

The Matching Day is organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Gumi City, and co-hosted by Gyeongbuk Technopark and the Gyeongbuk-Gumi Semiconductor Specialized Complex Promotion Team.

Between 20 and 30 organizations and companies, including leading semiconductor firms, specialized universities and graduate schools, bootcamps, specialized high schools, and research institutes in the province, will participate by operating recruitment and promotional booths. Anyone interested in the semiconductor field-including specialized high school students and graduates, university students, and general job seekers-is eligible to participate.

On-site, there will be intensive corporate recruitment consultations and interviews, as well as pre-announced job postings and job seeker-company matching through an online platform.

Additionally, there will be a special lecture on employment trends and preparation strategies, and a keynote speech by YouTuber Ttottenam titled "The Authenticity of My Life - The Hidden Secrets to Building Your Career in 10 Years."

Practical employment support programs such as AI interview experiences, resume photo shoots, and image consulting will also be available on-site, which are expected to draw significant interest from participants.

The opening ceremony will be held at 2:40 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall on the second floor of GUMICO, attended by the Vice Governor for Economic Affairs, the Deputy Mayor of Gumi, provincial and city council members, university presidents, and company representatives.

Prior to the event, a magic show will be held, and an appreciation plaque will be awarded to outstanding companies that have contributed to job creation and the expansion of the semiconductor industry in the province.

Furthermore, a networking event will be held to facilitate exchange among companies, universities, and specialized high schools, aiming to strengthen mutual understanding and networks among key players in the regional semiconductor industry.

Ha Inseong, President of Gyeongbuk Technopark, stated, "Gyeongsangbuk-do is fostering the semiconductor industry as a future growth driver, and we planned this event based on the belief that local talent is our greatest competitive advantage. Through this Matching Day, we hope to provide high-quality employment opportunities for young people and talent acquisition opportunities for local semiconductor companies, laying the foundation for a virtuous cycle in the regional semiconductor ecosystem."

Expectations for this Matching Day are high. Young people can broaden their employment prospects through a wide range of recruitment information and on-site interview opportunities, while companies can meet candidates directly and conduct customized recruitment. In addition, the event is expected to increase public understanding of the semiconductor industry and serve as a catalyst for industrial revitalization in the region.

Pre-registration is currently available on the official website. Those who pre-register will be given priority access to various programs at the event. Gyeongsangbuk-do Province plans to continue expanding collaborative programs based on the semiconductor talent platform, enabling young people and companies to grow together and laying the groundwork for the region to become a global semiconductor hub.
