Maehyangri Peace Memorial Hall in Hwaseong Unveils Interactive Content "Echoes of Goonri"

"Echoes of Goonri" is a mobile-based interactive program that utilizes augmented reality (AR) technology, allowing visitors to become protagonists within the story and actively participate in the experience.

Visitors can revisit the memories of Maehyangri by following the content within the "Maehyangri Peace Memorial Hall" application. The program follows visitors who come to the memorial hall seeking to solve a mysterious case of tinnitus. They uncover the causes by piecing together clues hidden throughout the memorial hall and the preserved Kooni Firing Range buildings, which reveal historical events and stories of local residents.

This content was developed as part of the city's "Gyeonggi Regional Content Development Support Project" in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Content Agency and Ins Edutainment. It is available free of charge and can be accessed without prior reservation.

Meanwhile, the memorial hall is a space that commemorates the 17-year-long movement by residents against the US military and the South Korean government to close the Kooni Firing Range, ultimately succeeding in halting military exercises and embodying the value of peace.
