Recipe Contest for Local Specialties Open Until October 20
Finals to Be Held at Yaho Center on November 14

Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju will hold a cooking competition featuring Donggok-dong Stone Water Parsley, a local specialty. The event aims to enhance the value of local agricultural products and establish a virtuous cycle in the local food system.
On September 15, Gwangsan-gu announced that it will host the '2025 Gwangsan Special Cooking Team' cooking sharing contest, utilizing local farm specialties. The competition is designed to discover a variety of recipes using Donggok-dong Stone Water Parsley, Gwangsan-gu's signature specialty, to boost local consumption and establish a circulation structure based on local food.
The contest is open to individuals or teams of two who are interested in cooking with Gwangsan-gu's specialty products. Participants must refer to the announcement on the Gwangsan Sharing Center website and submit their applications via email by 6:00 p.m. on October 20.
Ten teams will advance to the finals through a document review. The finals will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 14 in the kitchen on the first basement floor of the Yaho Center. Winners in the finals will receive a total of 2.5 million won in prize money, and the grand prize and top excellence award winners will each receive a separate award from the Gwangsan-gu Mayor.
Gwangsan-gu plans to collaborate with local businesses to develop and sell the winning recipes as actual menu items, and will also produce card news and video content to share the recipes. For inquiries regarding the competition, please contact the Gwangsan Sharing Center.
