This event, now in its second year, is organized by the Korea Kennel Federation (President Song Hakyoung) and supported by Hongcheon County. Various dog breeds from across Korea will participate, showcasing world-class competitions and judging.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 20 at Hongcheon-eup Sports Park. Prior to the ceremony, there will be a performance by Go Eunbi Dog Dance Team, which won second place in the Open Treat Class at the DSD Championship World Competition.

After the opening ceremony, there will be a Companion Dog Olympics (Wait, Come Here), an experience event for owners and their dogs (Frisbee Catch), afternoon judging for the International Dog Show, and the judging of the Hongcheon FCI/KKF Dog Show BIS (Best in Show).

On the following day, September 21, registration and check-in for dogs participating in the International Dog Show will take place. Morning and afternoon judging for the International Dog Show, as well as the Gangwon FCI/FCI A2O Dog Show BIS (Best in Show), will be held. In addition, there will be a Junior Trainer (experience), Agility Class (experience), Mini Agility Competition, and Companion Dog Olympics (Wait, Come Here).

Furthermore, throughout the festival, a variety of experience booths will be available at the venue, including behavior correction consultations, dog fitness experiences, first aid experiences, hygiene grooming, making insect repellent, caricatures, paw print stamping, four-cut dog photo booths, making identification badge pins, puppy tarot, and making tug toys, allowing anyone to participate and enjoy the event.

In particular, this year, Hongcheon County has significantly expanded the range of free experience programs to increase participation opportunities for county residents and local elementary school students compared to last year.

The festival will offer agility experiences, dog fitness, and first aid education that can be enjoyed with companion dogs, as well as hands-on crafts and junior trainer programs for children, making it a festival that families can enjoy together.

Additionally, the county plans to promote a proper companion animal culture and raise awareness of respect for life through activities such as adoption of lost and abandoned animals and campaigns for animal registration.

A Hongcheon County official stated, "Alongside the world-class international dog show, we have prepared a cultural festival that everyone in the county can enjoy. In particular, we will do our best to establish Hongcheon as a companion animal culture city through a variety of hands-on experiences where children and families can participate together."

Last year, approximately 1,800 visitors and dog show participants attended the event, and an even greater number of visitors is expected this year.
