Now in its 15th year, the Sky Bandage Medical Expense Support Project is carried out in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Ilsan Hospital, partner hospitals and clinics nationwide, and 184 volunteer groups affiliated with the Service, as well as child protection facilities. Through a social contribution fund voluntarily raised by Service employees, the project provides financial support for treatment, surgery, and examination costs to children and adolescents under the age of 18 who are unable to receive care due to financial hardship.
In particular, starting this year, a new category for psychological treatment expenses has been introduced for children living in facilities partnered with the Service's flagship social contribution project, "Sky Bandage Kids." This aims to support the healing of conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which require concurrent treatment outside of hospitals.
The donation ceremony was held at the National Health Insurance Ilsan Hospital, which operates essential medical infrastructure for children and adolescents and has been designated as a pediatric emergency medical institution. The event included a small concert to deliver hope and encouragement to patients.
President Jung Ki-seok of the Service stated, "Through the Sky Bandage Medical Expense Support Project, we aim to help children who cannot afford treatment due to financial difficulties grow up healthy," adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that children, who are the future of our society, do not lose hope."
