Focusing on AI and Humanoid Technology Development
Recruitment of Former Toss Securities CTO Oh Changhun
Strengthening Software Capabilities
Doosan Robotics has established the largest domestic research hub integrating its robot research and development (R&D) capabilities.
On September 15, Doosan Robotics announced that it has opened the Doosan Robotics Innovation Center, which spans approximately 6,600 square meters, in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. About 80 researchers, accounting for 40% of the company’s total workforce, are based at the center, working on intelligent robot solutions, humanoids, advanced robot hardware, and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and software technologies.

The center brings together research resources for the development of core components such as drive modules, controllers, and torque sensors, as well as AI-based motion research, palletizing and welding solution development, and quality testing. It is also equipped with quality verification systems, including the ability to repeatedly operate robotic arms thousands of times and test durability under extreme temperature and humidity conditions.
The company also plans to develop intelligent robot solutions such as multi-arm simultaneous control, collision avoidance, and long-duration operation technologies, as well as practical humanoid-related technologies.
To strengthen its AI and software capabilities, Doosan Robotics has recruited Oh Changhoon, former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Toss Securities, who previously worked at Naver, Toss, and Toss Securities, as Executive Vice President. Oh will lead the advancement of intelligent robot learning environments and core logic.
Kim Minpyo, CEO of Doosan Robotics, stated, "Since declaring our commitment to AI innovation, we have pursued key initiatives such as hiring specialized personnel, reorganizing our structure, acquiring a U.S. robot solutions company, and opening the Innovation Center. Based on industrial data and research talent, we will advance AI technology and lead the era of physical AI."
