Songpa District in Seoul (Mayor Seo Gangseok) will issue a total of 10 billion won worth of "Songpa Love Gift Certificates." In celebration of Chuseok, sales of the "Songpa Love Gift Certificates" will begin at 4 p.m. on September 17 through the Seoul Pay Plus app.

The "Songpa Love Gift Certificates" always receive a strong response whenever they are issued. This is because they help residents save on holiday preparation costs during times of high inflation. Notably, the discount rate for this round is 7%, which is higher than the 5% offered during the Lunar New Year earlier this year. For example, you can purchase 500,000 won worth of gift certificates for just 465,000 won.
Previously, the Lunar New Year gift certificates sold out quickly at the beginning of the year, and this round is also expected to sell out fast. Each person can purchase up to 500,000 won, and the gift certificates are valid for five years from the date of purchase.
The gift certificates can be used like cash via mobile payment at Seoul Pay-affiliated stores within the district. Currently, there are about 15,000 affiliated stores in Songpa District, including restaurants, hospitals, and private academies. Since there are no additional transaction fees, the program provides real benefits to local small business owners as well.
Both the purchase and use of the gift certificates are handled through the "Seoul Pay Plus" mobile app. As heavy traffic is expected on the day of sale, downloading the app in advance and completing membership registration and payment information setup will help ensure a smooth purchasing process.
