Gwangju Seo-gu to Operate "Integrated Health Camp" Through November

Visiting Six Locations Including Senior Welfare Facilities

On September 12, Seo-gu District of Gwangju City began operating the "Integrated Health Camp," a visiting health service that provides direct health services to residents, starting at the Siyoeng Welfare Center.

Seo-gu, in collaboration with Gwangju Health College, Bora Eye Hospital, and the Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association, will visit six locations, including senior welfare facilities, until November. The services offered include basic blood pressure and blood sugar tests, ophthalmology examinations and vision tests, oral examinations, and mental health screenings for depression and stress.


In addition to basic health checkups, the district will provide dementia screenings, traditional Korean medicine consultations, physical therapy, tuberculosis screenings, beauty care services such as hand massage and nail art, and nutrition counseling. Education on proper medication disposal methods and prevention of medication misuse and abuse will also be conducted.


In particular, Seo-gu plans to provide continuous follow-up care for high-risk groups identified through ophthalmology examinations, mental health screenings, and dementia screenings by conducting additional tests.


Lee Wongu, Director of the Public Health Center, stated, "The health of our residents is the vitality of our community. Through visiting health services, we aim to realize welfare that is closely connected to daily life," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the health care system through public-private-academic cooperation to create a sustainable healthy city."


Meanwhile, the second session of the Health Camp will be held on September 26 at the Seobitmaru Senior Center.
